ગાંધીનગર, ૪ નવેમ્બર, ૨૦૨૬: રાજ્ય સરકારે કેન્દ્રના ધોરણે કર્મચારીઓ અને પેન્શનરોના મોંઘવારી ભથ્થામાં ૩ ટકાનો વધારો કર્યો છે, જે ૧ જુલાઈ, ૨૦૨૬થી અમલી બનશે. છઠ્ઠા અને સાતમા પગાર પંચ હેઠળના ૪.૬૨ લાખ કર્મચારીઓ અને ૫.૦૭ લાખ પેન્શનરો મળી ૯.૬૯ લાખથી વધુને લાભ મળશે. જુલાઈથી ઓક્ટોબરના ચાર મહિનાના એરિયર્સ નવેમ્બર-૨૦૨૬ના પગાર સાથે એક હપ્તામાં ચૂકવાશે.
Gujarat's cabinet has raised the dearness allowance (DA) of state government employees and pensioners by 3%, matching the central government's increase, government spokesperson minister Jitu Vaghani said on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The key facts
- Increase: 3% DA, on the central government's pattern.
- Effective from: July 1, 2026.
- Who gets it: about 4.62 lakh employees of state service, panchayat service and other bodies on the 6th and 7th Pay Commission scales, and about 5.07 lakh pensioners: more than 9.69 lakh in all.
- Arrears: the difference for July–October 2026 will be paid in one instalment, credited with the November 2026 salary and pension.
What it costs
The four months' arrears total ₹523 crore. After that, the higher DA adds about ₹1,569 crore a year to the state's wage and pension bill.
