મોરબી, ૩૧ ઓક્ટોબર, ૨૦૨૬: સરદાર વલ્લભભાઈ પટેલની ૧૫૧મી જન્મજયંતિએ મોરબી જિલ્લાનો રાષ્ટ્રીય એકતા દિવસનો મુખ્ય કાર્યક્રમ એ.પી.એમ.સી. ખાતે યોજાયો. પ્રભારી મંત્રી ત્રિકમભાઈ છાંગાની ઉપસ્થિતિમાં નાગરિકોએ એકતાના શપથ લીધા, સામૂહિક 'વંદે માતરમ્' ગાન કર્યું અને જિલ્લાના અગ્રણી વ્યક્તિઓનું સન્માન કરાયું. સ્ટેચ્યુ ઓફ યુનિટી ખાતેના રાષ્ટ્રીય કાર્યક્રમનું જીવંત પ્રસારણ પણ સૌએ નિહાળ્યું.

Morbi district held its main Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) function at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) yard on Saturday, October 31, 2026. The district's in-charge minister, Trikambhai Changa, attended as the special guest.

The programme opened with a mass singing of Vande Mataram, followed by patriotic cultural performances by local artists. Officials, elected representatives and a large crowd of residents then took the pledge to uphold the unity and integrity of the country.

On stage, the dignitaries honoured people from Morbi district who have done notable work in different fields, presenting each with a shawl and a bouquet. The audience also watched a live broadcast of the national ceremony at the Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, held in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Why October 31

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas has been observed every year since 2014 on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was born on October 31, 1875 and led the integration of the princely states into India after Independence. The 2026 observance marks his 151st birth anniversary. Districts across Gujarat hold their own functions alongside the national ceremony at the Statue of Unity, Patel's 182-metre memorial in Narmada district.
