ગાંધીનગર, ૨ નવેમ્બર, ૨૦૨૬: રાજ્ય સરકારે પર્વતારોહણ તાલીમ શિબિરોમાં તાલીમાર્થીઓ અને પ્રશિક્ષકો માટેના દૈનિક ભોજન દરની મર્યાદા વ્યક્તિદીઠ ₹૧૫૦થી વધારીને ₹૩૫૦ કરી છે. ૧ એપ્રિલ, ૨૦૨૭થી અમલી આ નિર્ણયનો લાભ જૂનાગઢ અને માઉન્ટ આબુના કેન્દ્રોમાં તાલીમ લેતા વર્ષે આશરે ૫૧૦ યુવાનોને મળશે.
Gujarat's Sports, Youth and Cultural Activities Department has raised the cap on the daily food allowance for trainees and instructors at its annual mountaineering training camps from ₹150 to ₹350 per person per day, an increase of ₹200. The change takes effect on April 1, 2027, the department said on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Who benefits
- Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Mountaineering Training Centre, Junagadh: about 230 trainees a year; extra cost ₹3.40 lakh.
- State Mountaineering Institute, Mount Abu: about 280 trainees a year; extra cost ₹7.70 lakh.
- In total, about 510 young climbers a year, at an added cost of ₹11.10 lakh a year.
Both centres run under the Commissioner of Youth Services and Cultural Activities and host more than 20 government and private training camps a year. The department said climbers spend hours on steep rock and need proper nutrition to keep up their strength, and the higher allowance is meant to pay for better meals at the camps.
