ગાંધીનગર, ૨ નવેમ્બર, ૨૦૨૬: એશિયન ગેમ્સ અને પેરા એશિયન ગેમ્સમાં ગુજરાતનું નામ રોશન કરનાર ૧૮ ખેલાડીઓને નાયબ મુખ્યમંત્રી હર્ષ સંઘવીએ કુલ ₹૯.૨૭ કરોડથી વધુની ઇનામી રકમ આપી. પેરા એથ્લેટ અંજનાબેન બુંબડીયાને ગોલ્ડ મેડલ માટે ₹૨ કરોડ મળ્યા. સમારોહમાં હાજર ન રહી શકેલા ખેલાડીઓને રકમ સીધી બેંક ખાતામાં DBTથી જમા થશે.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi presented cheques worth more than ₹9.27 crore to 18 athletes from Gujarat who won medals at, or took part in, the Asian Games and Para Asian Games, at a ceremony in Gandhinagar on Monday, November 2, 2026. The awards were given under the state's Khel Pratibha Puraskar.

Sanghavi said the athletes had raised the tricolour on the international stage through determination and hard work, and that the state would keep providing training, infrastructure and incentives. Athletes who could not attend because of competition schedules will receive their money directly in their bank accounts by DBT (direct benefit transfer).

Para Asian Games medallists

  • Anjanaben Bumbadiya (para athletics), gold: ₹2 crore
  • Tejalben Damor (para athletics), silver and bronze: ₹1.5 crore
  • Nimisha C.S. (para athletics), silver in long jump: ₹1 crore
  • Rakeshbhai Bhatt (para athletics), bronze in 100 m and 200 m: ₹1 crore
  • Bhavinaben Patel (para table tennis), two bronzes: ₹75 lakh
  • Sonalben Patel (para table tennis), bronze: ₹50 lakh

Asian Games

  • Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel (India men's cricket team): ₹66 lakh each
  • Radha Yadav (India women's cricket team): ₹66 lakh
  • Manush Shah (table tennis), bronze: ₹25 lakh

Participation awards

  • Manav Thakkar, Aryan Nehra, Mitva Chaudhary and Bhavikkumar Bharwad: ₹5 lakh each
  • Harmeet Desai, Ankita Raina and Aniket Patel: ₹2.5 lakh each
