ગાંધીનગર, ૨ નવેમ્બર, ૨૦૨૬: મુખ્યમંત્રી ભૂપેન્દ્ર પટેલે અડાલજના ત્રિમંદિર ખાતે પ્રાથમિક શિક્ષણ વિભાગમાં પસંદ થયેલા ૮,૧૬૯ નવા વિદ્યાસહાયકોને ભલામણ પત્રો આપ્યા. પસંદ થયેલા ઉમેદવારોમાં ૬,૦૦૦થી વધુ મહિલાઓ છે, અને શિક્ષણ વિભાગ આગામી સમયમાં વધુ આશરે ૧૦,૦૦૦ શિક્ષકોની ભરતીનું આયોજન કરી રહ્યો છે.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel presented recommendation letters to 8,169 newly selected vidyasahayaks (entry-level primary school teachers) at a ceremony at Trimandir, Adalaj, near Gandhinagar, on Monday, November 2, 2026. Education Minister Dr. Pradyuman Vaja and Minister of State for Education Rivaba Jadeja attended, along with a large gathering of the new teachers' families.

Key numbers

  • More than 6,000 of the selected candidates are women, which the Chief Minister credited to the long-running Kanya Kelavani and Shala Praveshotsav school-enrolment drives.
  • The wider recruitment covers about 12,000 posts for classes 1 to 5: roughly 11,000 Gujarati-medium posts and 987 in other media, filled on merit through an online process, according to the Education Minister.

What was said

The Chief Minister said selection had been fully transparent, so candidates had won their jobs on their own effort. He urged the new teachers to use digital and social media with care, since teachers' conduct shapes children's minds. Dr. Vaja asked them to follow the National Education Policy's emphasis on foundational literacy and numeracy and on learning by understanding rather than rote, using activities, stories, experiments and technology. Rivaba Jadeja described teachers as the builders of the nation's future.

Principal Secretary for Education Milind Torawane welcomed the guests. Gandhinagar District Panchayat president Rajesh Patel, Gujarat education board chairman Mukesh Pandya, Commissioner of Schools Anand Patel, Collector Ravindra Khatale and Director of Primary Education Prakash Trivedi were also present.
