ગાંધીનગર, ૨ નવેમ્બર, ૨૦૨૬: ભગવાન બિરસા મુંડાની ૧૫૧મી જયંતિ નિમિત્તે ૧૧ થી ૧૮ નવેમ્બર ૨૦૨૬ દરમિયાન રાજ્યભરમાં 'જનજાતીય ગૌરવ સપ્તાહ' ઉજવાશે. મુખ્યમંત્રી ભૂપેન્દ્ર પટેલની અધ્યક્ષતામાં રાજ્ય કક્ષાનો કાર્યક્રમ છોટાઉદેપુરમાં યોજાશે, જ્યારે નાયબ મુખ્યમંત્રી હર્ષ સંઘવી વલસાડમાં હાજર રહેશે. આદિજાતિ વિકાસ મંત્રી નરેશભાઈ પટેલની અધ્યક્ષતામાં ગાંધીનગરમાં આયોજન બેઠક મળી.

Gujarat will observe Janjatiya Gaurav Saptah (Tribal Pride Week) from November 11 to 18, 2026 to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the tribal freedom fighter born on November 15, 1875. Tribal Development Minister Nareshbhai Patel chaired a planning meeting in Gandhinagar on Monday, November 2, 2026.

Where the main events are

  • Chhota Udaipur: state-level function presided over by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
  • Valsad: Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will attend.
  • Every tribal assembly constituency across Gujarat's 14 tribal districts will hold a programme led by a state minister.
  • Municipal corporations and the remaining, non-tribal districts will hold city- and district-level events.

What will happen during the week

  • Janjati Yuva Samvad, a dialogue with tribal youth
  • Floral tributes at statues of tribal leaders
  • A reading of Birsa Munda's life story and an aarti in every gram panchayat
  • Deepotsav lamp-lighting and processions with traditional instruments
  • Meetings of eminent citizens, traditional sports festivals and women's conventions

Ministers of State P.C. Baranda, Ramesh Katara and Jayram Gamit, Adivasi Morcha president Ganpat Vasava, Additional Principal Secretary to the CM Dr. Vikrant Pandey, Tribal Development Secretary Alok Kumar Pandey and Director Rachit Raj attended the meeting. District collectors, district development officers, municipal commissioners, project officers, tribal MPs and MLAs joined by video conference.
