હિંમતનગર, ૩ નવેમ્બર, ૨૦૨૬: ભગવાન બિરસા મુંડાજીની જન્મજયંતિ નિમિત્તે સાબરકાંઠામાં ૧૧થી ૧૮ નવેમ્બર દરમિયાન 'જનજાતીય ગૌરવ સપ્તાહ' ઉજવાશે. ૧૫ નવેમ્બરે જિલ્લા કક્ષાનો મુખ્ય કાર્યક્રમ ખેડબ્રહ્માની કે.ટી. હાઈસ્કૂલ ખાતે યોજાશે. યુવા સભા, સ્વચ્છતા અભિયાન, પરંપરાગત રમતોત્સવ અને મહિલા સભા સહિતના કાર્યક્રમો પણ યોજાશે.
Sabarkantha will celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Saptah, a week honouring tribal history, culture and heritage, from November 11 to 18, 2026, built around Janjatiya Gaurav Divas on November 15, the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Collector Lalit Narayan Singh Sandu chaired a planning meeting in Himmatnagar on Tuesday, November 3.
The week, day by day
- November 13: tribal youth meet.
- November 14: cleanliness drive at memorials to tribal leaders and public places, plus honouring of saints, installation of Birsa Munda's portrait at gram panchayats, aarti, deepotsav and bhajans.
- November 15: main district event at K.T. High School, Khedbrahma.
- November 16: meet of tribal community leaders: retired officers, doctors, lawyers, teachers, entrepreneurs, women achievers and progressive farmers, on development work and welfare schemes.
- November 17: festival of traditional village games: gilli-danda, sack race, marbles, satodiyu, archery, spinning tops, tug of war, kabaddi and kho-kho.
- November 18: tribal women's meet on government schemes, with beneficiaries sharing their experiences.
Events other than the main one will be held at Idar, Himmatnagar and Prantij. Development works will also be inaugurated and have foundation stones laid during the week.
