Gujarat University conducts centralized online admissions for all its Undergraduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG), Integrated, Diploma, Certificate, PhD, and MPhil programs through the Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS) portal. Gujarat University offers a diverse range of programs across disciplines:

  • UG: BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BEd, BPharm, BLIS, BPA, Integrated Programs (Law, Business, Science)
  • PG: MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, MCA, MEd, MSW, MJMC, MTech, Integrated MSc/MBA
  • Doctoral: PhD & MPhil (through GCAS & Samarth Portals)
  • Diploma/Certificate: GST, IT, Counseling, and other professional short-term courses

  • UG Programs: 10+2 (HSC) with English from GSHSEB, CBSE, CISCE, IB, NIOS, or other recognized boards
  • PG Programs: Valid Bachelor’s Degree
  • PhD/MPhil: Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline

Board-Wise Quota: 90% seats for GSHSEB students; 10% for other boardsExternal Students: Non-Gujarat board students must obtain a Provisional Eligibility Certificate (PEC) before applying.

5. Merit List & Tie-Breaker Rules

  • Merit is calculated on external theory marks (up to 4 decimals)
  • Tie-breaker sequence:
    1. Total marks in qualifying exam
    2. English subject marks
    3. SSC (10th) aggregate
    4. Older candidate (by date of birth)

6. Admission Process Overview

  1. Registration: Complete online registration on GCAS Portal; pay ₹300 registration fee.
  2. Document Upload: Upload mark sheets, signature, photo, caste/EWS/PEC documents.
  3. Choice Filling: Select courses, departments, and colleges in order of preference.
  4. Seat Allotment: Based on merit, preferences, and availability. Download offer letter from portal.
  5. Fee Payment: Pay online tuition fees via GCAS.
  6. Reporting: Visit allotted college with original documents; complete final OTP-based confirmation.

Subsequent reshuffling rounds are conducted for vacant seats. Once admitted, a candidate becomes ineligible for later rounds.

8. Fee Structure & Refund Policy

Program-wise fees are detailed in Annexure 1 of the admission booklet. A 10% deduction applies in case of withdrawal after confirmation. Unreported Round-1 fees are refundable after the admission cycle, minus the deduction.

  • False Documents: Lead to disqualification and 2-year ban.
  • Ragging Prohibited: Offenders face expulsion and legal action.
  • Jurisdiction: All disputes fall under Ahmedabad City court jurisdiction.
