Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta: A Comprehensive Guide

Founded in 1981, the Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta has grown into a vibrant community hub with 1000+ members. From cultural festivals and senior programs to youth awards and health fairs, the Samaj continues to preserve Gujarati heritage while serving the wider Atlanta community.

The Gujarati Samaj of Atlanta (GSA) is one of the oldest and largest Gujarati community organizations in the United States. Established in 1981 with just 10–15 families, the Samaj has now grown into a vibrant cultural, social, and religious hub for over 1000 members in Atlanta. With its mortgage-free 40,000 sq. ft. Sardar Patel Bhavan facility in Tucker, Georgia, the Samaj continues to serve as a home away from home for the Gujarati and broader Indian community.

Founding and Growth

Founded by a small group of Gujaratis committed to preserving their heritage, the organization has evolved into a cornerstone cultural institution in the Southeast. GSA operates on democratic principles with an Executive Committee and Board of Governors elected by members.
